Circum Minerals is acquiring and developing a major potash project in Ethiopia's Danakil Depression - one of the world's largest evaporative basins that contains shallow potash deposits comparable in size to those in Canada and Russia, which account for over 70% of world potash deposits and 50% of production. Potash is the only viable source of potassium (K), the all-important fertilizer needed increasingly by the fast growing populations and urbanizing economies of Asian. 93% of the world's known potash reserves are in only 5 countries (not counting Ethiopia).
Management believe the Danakil Region can emerge as one of the world's preferred potash producing regions and that Circum's project can be a significant low-cost supplier of the world's third most important crop nutrient after nitrogen and phosphorous.
